Enterprise
My Story
When I first stepped in front of the camera in 2011, I never imagined that one day I'd be building businesses of my own. I was just a girl from Bengal with a dream — to act, to create, to feel something real through storytelling. But somewhere along the way, between the lights and the takes, I realised I wanted more. I wanted to build something that would outlast me.
That's how Maya Entertainment was born — named after my mother, the woman who taught me that strength and grace can exist in the same breath. And then came Ranii Sharee, because my love for the saree isn't just about fabric — it's about identity. Every venture I've started carries a piece of who I am. This isn't just business. This is my heart, poured into form.
Production House
I named my production house after my mother, Maya Das, because everything I know about resilience, I learned from her. She's the reason I believe that stories have the power to heal — and that's exactly what I want Maya Entertainment to do.
Right now, I'm producing a film where I also play the lead. It's exhausting and exhilarating in equal measure — being on both sides of the camera. But when I watch the footage at the end of the day, I know it's worth it. This isn't just about making movies. It's about creating something true. Something that makes people feel seen.
We work across Bengali, Odia, and Hindi cinema — because stories don't belong to one language. They belong to anyone willing to listen.
My Work
I founded Maya Entertainment to produce films that matter — stories rooted in our culture, told with honesty and heart.
Playing the lead in Chhabi Rani earned me an international award, but the real reward was bringing a forgotten journalist's story back to life.
Ranii Sharee is my love letter to the Bengali saree — a brand that celebrates tradition while embracing the modern woman.
Art has always been my first language. Whether it's a film frame or a brand campaign, I approach everything with an artist's eye.
I've been the face of campaigns across India — not because I fit a mould, but because I bring authenticity to every brand I represent.
I built two businesses from scratch, without shortcuts. That's not a flex — it's just how I was raised. Earn what you get.
Fashion
I've always believed that a saree isn't just an outfit — it's a feeling. It's the way my mother draped hers before leaving for work. It's the six yards of fabric that carry centuries of weaving tradition. When I started Ranii Sharee, I wasn't thinking about fashion trends. I was thinking about the women who would wear these sarees and feel like the best version of themselves.
Every piece we curate tells a story — of the weaver who spent weeks at the loom, of the tradition passed down through generations, of the modern woman who carries her culture with pride. That's luxury to me. Meaning, not just beauty.
My Journey
I started acting in 2011, and since then I've worked across Bengali, Odia, and Hindi cinema. Films like Tandav, My Dear Sir, and Cheeni taught me the craft. But it was Chhabi Rani — a film about a journalist murdered in 1980 — that changed everything for me. That role earned me an international award, but more importantly, it reminded me why I chose this path: to give a voice to stories that deserve to be heard.
I've also appeared on national television, in music videos, and in countless magazine spreads. But if you ask me what I'm proudest of, I'll tell you it's the fact that I never stopped learning. From Surendranath College to film sets to boardrooms — every chapter has shaped me.
My Philosophy
I don't believe in shortcuts. I never have. Everything I've built — Maya Entertainment, Ranii Sharee, my career — has been through showing up every single day and giving it everything I have. My mother used to say, "Kaaj er kono bikolpo nei" — there is no alternative to hard work. That's the principle I live by.
As an entrepreneur, I lead with instinct and integrity. I trust my gut when choosing scripts. I trust my roots when designing for Ranii Sharee. And I trust my team — because no one builds anything meaningful alone. I think acting is behaviour in the truest sense — and business isn't much different. Show up as your real self, and the right people will find you.
Milestones
Winning Best Performance for Chhabi Rani on an international stage was surreal. It validated every risk I'd taken as an actor.
Over a decade in this industry, and I still get butterflies before every shot. That's how I know I'm in the right place.
Making my production company official was one of the proudest days of my life. My mother's name, on paper, forever.
Being featured in leading publications across India reminds me that my voice has reach — and I try to use it responsibly.
Appearing on Star Bharat's Swayamvar brought me into millions of homes across India — an experience I'll never forget.
Half a million people following my journey — that's not a number, that's a responsibility I take seriously every day.
Partnerships
Over the years, I've had the privilege of collaborating with brands that align with who I am. From television commercials to lifestyle campaigns, I don't just lend my face to a product — I lend my belief. If I don't use it, I won't endorse it. That's non-negotiable for me. Several national brands have trusted me to represent them, and each partnership has been a learning experience that helped me grow as both a professional and a person.
My Why
“There is no shortcut to success. I earned every bit of it through dedication and passion towards my career.”
— Chandrani Das
Looking Ahead
I'm still writing my story. Maya Entertainment has films in the pipeline that I can't wait to share. Ranii Sharee is growing into something bigger than I ever imagined. And I'm still learning, still pushing, still showing up. If you're reading this and you're building something of your own — know that I see you. It's not easy. But if a girl from Kolkata can do it, so can you. Let's build something beautiful together.
